Laser cutting technology is widely used in industrial processing due to its high precision and high efficiency. However, the high energy output and complex operation of laser equipment also bring certain safety hazards. In order to ensure the safety of personnel and the stable operation of equipment, the following are matters that need special attention when using laser cutting equipment.
1. Protective measures should be in place
Laser cutting equipment will generate high-intensity laser radiation when working, which poses a potential threat to the eyes and skin of operators. Therefore, operators should wear special laser protective glasses to prevent laser damage to the retina. In addition, it is recommended to install laser shielding devices around the equipment to avoid secondary damage caused by accidental reflection of the laser beam.
2. Maintain a good ventilation environment
During the cutting process, some materials (such as plastics or coated metals) may release toxic fumes and gases, and long-term inhalation may have adverse effects on human health. To this end, the operating site must be equipped with an effective smoke exhaust system and maintain good ventilation. If the operating environment cannot be fully ventilated, the operator should wear a protective mask that meets the standards to reduce the risk of inhaling harmful substances.
3. Fire and heat protection
Laser cutting equipment will generate high temperatures, which may easily cause fires or scald accidents. The working area should be cleaned and flammable and explosive items should be avoided. In addition, operators should wear work clothes and gloves made of fireproof and heat-proof materials when working to avoid high temperature burns. Once a fire occurs, a fire extinguisher should be used to deal with it quickly.
4. Comply with operating specifications
Equipment operators need to receive sufficient technical training and start and adjust the equipment in strict accordance with the operating manual to avoid accidents caused by misoperation. When changing cutting materials or adjusting equipment, the power supply of the equipment should be turned off first to ensure that the equipment is in a stopped state before performing related operations.
5. Regular maintenance of equipment
Laser cutting equipment requires regular inspection and maintenance to ensure that all components operate normally. For example, clean optical lenses, lubricate guide rails and lead screws, check whether the circuit is safe, etc. Any abnormal situation should be reported and repaired in time to avoid accidents caused by equipment failure.
